A multi-generational family-owned and operated restaurant in Anniston, Al serving quality food for over 25yrs. Our menu includes a wide variety of pizzas, grinders (sandwiches), salads, spaghetti, Gryos, and baklava. All of our breads and pizza dough are made from scratch using Matas original recipes.

Authentic Pizza

This is the most authentic pizza you will find in Oxford, Anniston area; although whether it is most delicious is questionable, as many peoples' taste in pizza differs. Mata's pizza is synonymous with deep-dish pizza, or pizza pie: an ooey-gooey layer of cheese encasing an array of tender vegetables and meat with perfectly seasoned tomato sauce below. THICK, SAVORY, AND FILLING. If you like that skimpy thin pizza from CiCi's, you will not bode well with Mata's. Mata's also offers other fantastic Greek dishes like pasta, salad, and wonderful calzones - stuffed to boot. The only downside is the cleanliness, which is prevalently lacking. The building is rather dingy and small, tucked away deep in the old Anniston streets, which explains why it's a hidden gem of the city.
